I am being told I know nothing of Righteousness by Faith.
The Law Adventists have a completely different definition of what it means to accept the Righteousness of Christ. To them genuine faith is about trusting Jesus to transform your character and make you perfect.
“being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;” (Philippians 1:6 NKJV).
To them the assurance of salvation is in a future work of being made perfect by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Gospel Adventism teaches that genuine faith is trusting in Jesus to declare you righteous before God as you accept what Jesus did for you at the cross. All sin (Past, Present, Future) is forgiven as one continues trusting Christ alone for salvation.
“Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.” (Romans 3:28 NKJV)
We have the assurance of salvation in the finished work of Christ who paid the penalty of sin on the cross. We are declared “perfect-in-Christ” as we repent of our spiritual pride and self-righteousness and rest in Christ alone.
Please understand both groups believe in obedience to the 10 Commandments, but they obey them for much different reasons. Law Adventists keep Sabbath “in order to be” saved while Gospel Adventist’s observe Sabbath “because” they are saved. This is key to understanding both groups.
