God will never tell us anything that is contrary to the plain teachings of the Holy Scriptures. The more we learn of the Bible the easier it is to discern the voice of God in our daily walk with Him. Most of the time He is simply reminding of us what He has already said in His son Jesus Christ.
“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you” (John 14:26).
Read the Bible regularly, memorize those verses that stand out to you, and pray that God helps you to apply these teachings to your life. The Holy Spirit will tune your frequency from the static of life into the music of heaven.
1. Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” (Isaiah 30:20-12)
2. While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!” (Matthew 17:5)
3. “In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.” (Hebrews 1:1-2)
