I often think of people like Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, and other billionaires who remind me of how insignificant I am to the world’s economy. I don’t live in a palace, drive fancy sports cars, nor am I able to give millions of dollars to charity. I don’t represent a global corporation, but I do have ONE thing going for me. I am best friends with the Creator of the Universe. I am not an ambassador to a foreign government, but I do represent the one who provides life to all human beings–Jesus Christ.
Here is the math: While others might live a life of luxury for the next 50 years, they are losing out on the next trillion upon trillions of years in paradise. But I am sacrificing now and investing in the future when what God gives me will never be taken away.
The King of Time and Eternity says, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:19-21, NIV)
Here is my message to those CEOs. You WILL bow the knee to Jesus Christ, but I hope it is not too late when you do. I might be a little jealous now, but I have got better things coming to me than you can ever imagine.
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him” (I Corinthians 2:9, KJV).

Good article! It provides the eternal perspective which we often lack. And also, the source of our self-esteem, which is not to come from the size of your back account, the number of rooms in your house or the price of the car you drive, but from our King.
