“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15:13, NKJV
This is a wonderful moral statement about self-sacrificing love. It is also a prophecy about the day that Christ would lay down his life for His friends. Christ gave his ALL to grant us the gift of eternal life. The least we can do for Him is accept His hand of friendship.
This memorial day let us remember the lives that were lost in war. But let us also remember the blood that was shed on Calvary. The blood that Jesus shed allows us to claim victory over the darkness of this evil world. We now have the hope of eternal life in a place where there is no sin, suffering, or death.
“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4
Jesus wants to be your friend. He died for you. He now sits at the right hand of God waiting for the day when all of His friends will be seated next to Him on the eternal throne of love.
Jesus laid down His life for you. What will you do for Him?
